Velthuis geeft een menselijk gezicht aan de economische migratie van Oost-Europeanen naar het Westen, door twee vriendelijke Albanezen te volgen op hun reis naar Hamburg, drieduizend kilometer van huis. Ondanks dat ze zich verzekerd weten van een Schengen-visum blijven ze de hele 'rail'-movie ongerust. Ze weten dat Albanezen nergens echt gewenst zijn. Toch blijken de illegale Albanezen die ze onderweg tegenkomen onderling opvallend openhartig en laconiek, ook waar de camera bij is. Ze kankeren uitgebreid op hun 'waardeloze' geboorteland - volgens Velthuis willen vier op de vijf Albanezen het liefst vertrekken - maar voelen ook heimwee.
Velthuis volgt de twee avonturiers, van het dagenlange wachten op het visum bij de Griekse ambassade in Albanië, via de spanning op de Italiaanse kade, tot de ontvangst door bevriende Albanezen in Hamburg waar ze illegaal zullen gaan werken.

In this documentary Velthuis gives a humane face to the economic migration of East Europeans to the West, by following two friendly Albanians on their journey to Hamburg, three thousand kilometers from home. Although they are in the possession of a Schengen visa, they remain restless the whole 'rail movie'. They know that Albanians are never really wanted. Yet it appears that the illegal Albanians along the way are remarkably candid and laconic, even in front of the camera. They grumble at their 'worthless' motherland - according to Velthuis four out of five Albanians prefer to leave - but also feel homesick.
Velthuis arouses sympathy for the two adventurers. He follows them during their endless waiting for their visa at the Greek Embassy in Albania, through the tension on the Italian quay, and the welcome by fellow Albanians in Hamburg where they will work illegally.
