In deze documentaire serie voor de jeugd, portretteren Kranenborg en Velthuis mensen met verantwoordelijkheden waar niemand ooit bij stil staat. De serie gaat over de man die een fles champagne aan een touwtje bindt zodat een doopvrouw er een schip mee kan dopen, of over de vrouw die een rood lint voor een deurspant, zodat de commissaris van de koningin het kan doorknippen in het kader van een opening, of de man die verantwoordelijk is voor het laken over een te onthullen beeld.
In het internationale vervolg ontmoeten we de man die bij de Tour de France de gele trui verzorgt, of de man die bij het Eurovisie songfestival in Oslo de 'votes' indrukt, of de bewaarder van de Olympische Vlam in Griekenland.

Een humoristische serie waarin er aandacht is voor gebeurtenissen in de schaduw van officiële ceremonies.

 

THE TACK OF THE MONA LISA (1995)

In this documentary series for youth television, Kranenborg & Velthuis portray people with responsibilities that no one ever pays attention to. The series is about the man who puts a bottle of champagne on a string, for the inauguration of a ship, or the woman who hangs a red ribbon in front of a door, so that the major may cut it as part of an opening ceremony, or the man responsible for hanging a sheet over a statue, so that an important person can reveal it.

In the international sequel we meet the man who is responsible for taking care of the yellow jersey at the Tour de France or the man who pushes the 'your votes please'- button during the scoring at the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, or the Keeper of the Olympic Flame in Greece.

A humorous series that puts a spotlight on events in the shadow of official ceremonies.
